Street Tales: One Moment at a Time

I went to Manila and did a few important things, and of course, i brought my camera with me, as always. I never pass up oppurtunities to take photos whenever I go somewhere, Im always vigilant, and always looking for moments to capture with my trusty camera, forever exposing those moments on film.

I saw this “manghuhula” (fortuneteller), doing some of his stuff on the sidewalk, scientific palm reading, as what his sign board says. I dont know if his customers were there for fun or if they were serious with this fortunetelling stuff, but I think they were serious about it.

I also took a picture of the Manila Post Office Building. I’ve had a hard time framing this one, since I was using the 50mm, and had to back away from it. I like it, I wish I have a wider lens though.

Time for me to go home, but the shutter trippin never stops. This was taken at the bus station. The couple at the right side of the frame was looking at their cellphones, I’d like to think the girl is just checkin’ out his boyfriend’s phone and reading his texts, and see if there was any text message sent by a girl to his boyfriend, or I dont know, what do you guys think? Also in the frame, a man on the payphone, he sure looks serious, I hope nothing bad happened to him.

And, a photo of the “Dispatcher”, as we call it here in the Philippines. He’s the one who decides and sends the bus on its way, full or half-full. He was about to eat his dinner.

I was at the pedestrian lane on my way to the mall to have dinner with my girlfriend and took a picture of the people waiting to cross it. I think someone noticed me and smiled.

I shot this scene near the mall’s entrance. I can’t help it. There’s just too many stories in this frame. And, oh, the couple at the right side of the frame seemed to be arguing about something, their voices were loud, while the man seated on the floor was just taking his “yosi break” as we call it here in the Philippines.

Last Valentine’s Day. I took the train on my way to have dinner with my girlfriend, and as I was about to exit the station, when I saw this. His kiosk was full of boxed flowers and chocolates and stuffed toys.

I was also at the mall one weekend, and found out that there was something going on, like an event for the kids or something like that. I was up on the 2nd floor when i saw this, I was using the 50mm so, this shot was not zoomed in, I hope it was though. Can you see her? The photo was about a girl eating her ice cream. It was an amusing sight, i just had to take a picture of her.

Another weekend dinner date with my girlfriend, and we were about to go home after a nice movie, and this was what we saw at the basement parking. I think he’s a driver, just waiting for whoever he drives for. Thanks to my girlfriend for helping me with the framing.

The sun finally came out today. At last, but bummer for me. I ran out of films.
